Book and Periodical Research at the Library of Congress
Book and Periodical Research
Students, Scholars, Historians, Authors
Looking for an out-of-print book?
Need an article from a hard-to-find periodical?
We can help!
The Library of Congress does not have a copy of every book ever published but it does have more than 27 million cataloged books and other printed materials. It?s entire card catalog can be viewed online.
We will be glad to request and review any book or periodical that you need, provided that we can access it through the LOC. Please make sure that the book is in the holdings of the Library of Congress before contacting us. We cannot copy an entire book, but we are more than happy to copy articles or excerpts.
Send the book title, author?s name, publisher and publication date, and the information you need or page numbers you want copied.
For periodicals, be sure to include the name of the publication as well as the name of the article. Also include volume numbers or any other information that will assist us in locating the right article.
These searches are conducted and billed on an hourly basis, and subject to a one-hour miminum. Contact us for pricing.
